SRT (short for Secure Reliable Transport) works like a courier with a checklist. It notices the instant a piece goes missing and re-sends it before your viewers ever see a gap. It also locks every piece with encryption on the way. You don't configure any of this — you just paste an SRT address into your app instead of an RTMP one, and your stream gets tougher.

The "S" in SRT stands for Secure. Your stream is scrambled with AES encryption — the same family of protection used in online banking — for its whole journey to Livepush. SRT's trick is a small buffer — usually a second or two — that gives it time to re-send anything the network dropped. That is all it needs. Your stream stays close to real time, your viewers stay in sync, and Q&As and live reactions still feel live.
